5 Must Do Things for Halloween

October 03, 2019

As I get older I find it a lot harder to find things to do for Halloween, so while I was researching and found a few things I thought I may as well out this into a blog post incase any one else is struggling to think of something to do.

Crumlin Road Gaol

Year after year Crumlin Road Gaol opens it's cells for 3 weeks in October for Halloween and offers a range of Halloween themed events.
In particular, their most popular events are their after dark experiences such as 'Jail of Horror' or their '2hr paranormal investigation'.

The horrific experience will last approximately 30 minutes and will scare you beyond your wildest nightmares.
This event will be running from the 11th of October until Halloween night, all beginning at 8pm. Tickets cost £12.50 if purchased online here, or £15 otherwise and there is no minimum age restriction.

2hr paranormal investigation - This event is a 2 hour ghost hunting experience within the walls of the haunted Gaol. You are certain to hear some unexplained noises and maybe even see some terrifying sights that you will never forget. Visitors will be able to get hand on experience of using ghost hunting equipment to try and interact with spirits in areas of the jail where paranormal activity has been highly reported.
This terrifying experience is not for the faint hearted and also not for those under the ages of 15.
This experience can be booked online here for a price of £35, or £37.50 otherwise.
Again this event is running from the 11th of October until the 31st.

Jungle NI Fright Night

That video alone is enough to scar me for the rest of my life.
However, Jungle NI has much more to offer.  Fright Night involves many different events, some including the Woodland Trail of Terror, The Ward, Inbred Horror House, The Circus and The Haunted Hay Cart.

The Woodland Trail of Terror is the main event of the night and last approximately 1 hour. This is an interactive story that turns to a real life horror simulation and as you travel through the forest trail more of the twisted story is revealed by the characters. You will hear screams throughout the forest and maybe even see where some of those screams are coming from (or should I say...who they are coming from).
This experiences alone costs £22, however, it can be bought in a package with some of the other scare attractions up to a cost of £60 for the Woodland Trail and all 6 scare attractions.

Streamvale Open Farm Pumpkin Patch

Streamvale Open Farm is starting its annual pumpkin patch events on the 19th of October until the 31st. This is one you can bring the kids along to and you can pick your own pumpkins and then carve them! There are also barrel and tractor rides available and also many animal shows and other activities throughout the day.
Tickets for this event range from £3.50 for a child under the age of 3, or £9 for a child over the age of 3, £9.50 for an adult, or £35 for a family of 4. All other ticket prices and booking information can be found here.

Outdoor screening of Hocus Pocus

For all my fellow Hocus Pocus lovers who have already watched it at least 4/5 times by now, Belfast is hosting its very own outdoor screening of the film. The event is being held in West Belfast by Colin Neighbourhood Partnership in Colin Town Square. This event will be taking place on the 27th of October and will also feature a screening of Goosebumps. The best part of it all though is that this event is completely free!

Murder Mystery Night at Belfast Castle

This event includes a three course meal with live acting entertainment throughout. Each table will complete with other tables of detectives to solve a heinous crime. Everyone is a suspect! Suspects will be interrogate at the tables and guest must use forensic evidence and police files to find the murderer. The event will feature suspicious characters, involve story lines and spooky surprises. This event is taking place on the 26th of October and costs £35 per person.

Comment below your plans for this Halloween!
